Prathamam

It was a spark that struck me to blog some of my blissful moments and jot down some of the most knowledgeable things i come across in my daily life. My recent found love is Tyagayyar krithis , listening to them  along with knowing their meanings.  Saint Tyagarajar , to me is an epitome of unwavering devotion to Lord rama and he proves it krithi by krithi.Saint Tyagaraja was introduced first to me by my appa. I was exposed to music at very young age and my father always kept telling me , a musician is real good musician, only when he/she sings tyagaraja krithis. And if I remember right, y only knowledge of tyagaraja krithis was his mudra and bahula panchami and pancha rathna krithis. Absolutely nothing more.

The next instance when Tyagarajar ever came in to my life was , when i heard Smt Vishaka Hari's "tygaraja charithram". The first time I heard that, all I could hear and enjoy was when she said kunju tyagarajar and completing that 100 koti rama japam and his dharshan of rama. My quest to know more and more about tyagarayar hadnt grown more at that juncture.

My sudden urge to know more and more of god  came through when it stuck that you know god through his devotees. This thought was fed into me by mahatma Sri muralidhara swamigal. His lectures on Sant tukaram is a great one and must listen to.
Yes thats when Tyagayar and Annamachrayar entered into my life ad I m focussing on tyagayyar these days. More to come on Tyagayyar and his krithis and the way I enjoy them everyday.
